Innovative and expressive
Munch : Van Gogh closely examines the affinity between Edvard Munch (1863-1944) and Vincent van Gogh (1853-1890). They are both renowned for their emotionally-charged paintings and drawings, their personal and innovative styles, and their tormented lives. They were devoted to modernising the arts and developed an expressive visual language to convey the universal emotions of the human condition.
Be part of the premiere!
Despite the numerous parallels between the two artists, this is the first exhibition to focus specifically on their connection. Munch : Van Gogh features approximately 70 paintings and 30 works on paper (including The Scream) and also examines the visible influence of the Parisian avant-garde on their work.
